Encourages Residents to Examine H.R. 3200 before Congress reconvenes in September

(Pittsburgh, PA) –  Today Congressman Tim Murphy (PA-18) sent out additional copies of H.R. 3200, America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009, to public libraries throughout the 18th Congressional District for residents to read over the summer. 

In response to constituent requests for copies of the bill, which were printed on a limited basis, Rep. Murphy last week provided bound printed versions to local libraries throughout the district. This week, five additional locations were selected: Norwin, South Park, Ligonier, Monroeville and Green Tree. 

“As Thomas Jefferson said, an ‘informed citizenry is the bulwark of a democracy.’  Running more than 1,000 pages, legislation this complex needs to be carefully considered by members of Congress and citizens alike.  I urge all interested residents to stop by one of the participating libraries and read the text of this legislation and provide feed back to me.  As always, my office stands ready to provide further information,” said Rep. Murphy.
