2021 Stephanie's Scholars

U.S. Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy invites all K-12 students in Florida's Seventh Congressional District to participate in her Stephanie's Scholars reading challenge. Participants of the “Stephanie’s Scholars” reading program must submit reading logs signed by a parent, teacher, or guardian that certify they have read or listened to at least five books for elementary school students, kindergarten to fifth grade; five novels for middle school students, sixth to eighth grade; and ten novels for high school students, ninth to 12th grade. Those who complete the program will receive a special congressional recognition from Congresswoman Murphy at a future event hosted by the Congresswoman herself. The deadline to complete the program is Friday, Dec. 3, 2021.

“Reading is essential to help children grow their imaginations and expand their worldview, especially during a time when we’re still limiting our interactions with the world due to the pandemic,” said Murphy. “As a mom of two young children, I know how reading can play a critical role in a young person’s life, and I encourage Central Florida students to read more books through this fun reading program.”

For parents, students, and teachers who missed this year's Stephanie's Scholars launch, you can view the recording of the event on the Congresswoman's Facebook page.
