U.S. Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy of Winter Park, Fla., authored an amendment to assist small businesses and successfully included it in the Fiscal Year 2018 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) . It would strike Section 541 of the bill, a provision that would make it nearly impossible for graduates of the military service academies to play professional football, basketball or any other sport. Orlando Rising — Florida U.S. Reps. Tom Rooney of Okeechobee and Stephanie Murphy of Winter Park have joined the board overseeing the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y.
