ORLANDO—U.S. Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy of Winter Park, Fla., announced today she will host a telephone town hall on Wednesday, October 9th at 6:30 p.m. to provide a legislative update to constituents and answer questions they may have on issues important to them and their families. The telephone town hall will last approximately one hour and offer residents of Florida’s Seventh Congressional District a simple and convenient way to connect directly with their congressional representative. The effort is part of a broader outreach operation by Murphy’s office that includes in-person town halls, office hours, listening sessions, coffees, roundtables, advisory boards, and constituent surveys. Back in August, Murphy held three in-person town halls in Orange and Seminole counties.

“After hosting numerous events this year, many constituents—especially seniors and families with young children—shared with me how difficult it can be to take time out of their busy lives to attend one of our many public events. My office promptly scheduled a family friendly town hall on a weekend to allow more working families to talk to me about issues that are important to them,” said Murphy. “This telephone town hall is part of our effort to offer a convenient way for families to participate in the political process and share their concerns with me from the comfort of their own homes. Listening to the people I represent is a fundamental part of my job, and I encourage all residents of Florida’s Seventh Congressional District to participate.”

Some residents in Florida’s Seventh Congressional District may receive an automated telephone call from Murphy’s office that will give them the option to be automatically connected into the telephone town hall. In addition, constituents will have the opportunity to join the town halls by calling the following toll-free number during the event: 866-383-2729. Anyone on the call may listen to the live event and specific instructions will be provided for callers who wish to ask Murphy a question.
