Murphy to Host Telephone Town Halls to Listen to Central Floridians
Events are part of broader outreach effort Murphy uses to connect with constituents
ORLANDO—U.S. Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy of Winter Park, Fla., will be hosting two telephone town halls next week to provide a legislative update to her constituents and to answer questions on issues important to them and their families. Each event offers residents of Florida’s Seventh Congressional District a simple and convenient way to connect directly with their Member of Congress. The effort is part of Murphy’s ongoing outreach to constituents that includes town halls, office hours, listening sessions, constituent coffees, roundtables, advisory boards, classroom visits, and constituent surveys. Since taking office, Murphy has held more than 500 public events.
“If you’re going to represent people, then you’ve got to listen to them – which is why listening to the people of Central Florida is one of my top priorities,” said Murphy. “Every time I visit with families in Central Florida, I take their concerns and ideas to our nation’s capital and get results to help make our community and our nation safer, better, and more prosperous for more people. These telephone town halls give folks the chance to connect directly with my office and me from the comfort and safety of their own home, especially those who are concerned about COVID-19, struggle with child care, or are home bound. I am excited for this opportunity to listen, and I encourage all residents of Florida’s Seventh Congressional District to join us for a lively discussion.”
