Murphy to Host Virtual Info Session on Service Academies, Nomination Process
WASHINGTON—U.S. Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy of Winter Park, Fla., today announced she will be hosting a virtual Service Academy Information Session on Wednesday, Sept. 22, for parents and students to learn about the educational opportunities in our nation’s service academies and the application process for each of these prestigious institutions, including congressional nominations. Murphy, a member of the U.S. Military Academy Board of Visitors, will be joined during the event by representatives from the service academies.
“One of the best parts of my job is helping exceptional high school students achieve their dreams of serving our country by attending one of our nation’s distinguished service academies,” said Murphy. “I’m hosting this information session to provide guidance and clarity for Central Florida students and parents about what each of the academies have to offer and how to navigate the nomination process.”
The virtual Service Academy Information Session will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 6:30 p.m. Residents of Florida’s Seventh Congressional District seeking to apply to these service academies or interested in learning more may register by visiting murphy.house.gov/ServiceAcademies. The event will also be livestreamed on Murphy’s Facebook page.
