Murphy to Host Seniors Resources Fair in Longwood on Tuesday
Event Will Highlight Local Services Available to Central Florida Seniors
U.S. Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy of Winter Park, Fla., will host a seniors resource fair on Sept. 18 to help seniors in central Florida get information about important resources available to them and their families. The event will feature a variety of organizations that provide specialized services for seniors, including legal services, health care, government services, and more.
Murphy said the resource fair will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Longwood Community Center located at 200 W. Warren Avenue in Longwood, Fla. Admission is free to constituents, but prior registration is required at murphy.house.gov/seniorsfair or by calling (888) 205-5421.
“My goal is to ensure more seniors are aware of the many services available to them and their families so they may live happier, healthier, and more independent lives,” said Murphy. “We are bringing together a variety of organizations that are helpful to seniors and doing so in a convenient way so that more seniors may get the help and care they have earned after a lifetime of hard work. My office is always standing by to do what we can to help.”

U.S. Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy represents Florida’s Seventh Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives, where she serves on the House Armed Services Committee and Small Business Committee. The district includes all of Seminole County and much of northern Orange County, including downtown Orlando, Maitland, Winter Park, and the University of Central Florida. Previously, Murphy was a businesswoman and college instructor who also served as a national security specialist in the Office of the Secretary of Defense where she received numerous awards, including the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Civilian Service. Murphy lives in Winter Park with her husband and two children.
