America possesses immense natural resources that enable us to produce cheap, reliable, and clean energy. Using these resources gives us a global competitive advantage and provides for national security. As our country’s energy needs continue to grow, we must adopt an all-of-the-above approach, using traditional energy sources and developing innovative technologies to improve baseload capacity. We can do all of this in a responsible and environmentally responsible manner. Without abundant energy, Americans will suffer from the self-inflicted wounds of high costs and sluggish economic growth.

As an outdoorsman and avid angler, I feel strongly about protecting Eastern North Carolina’s beautiful ecosystems. Thanks to the rapid development of clean energy technologies, the United States continues to see a significant decline in overall emissions. We do not have to choose between a clean environment and unleashing energy dominance; we must choose between a commonsense approach to energy policy or enabling the lucrative fearmongering of the Green New Deal movement.
