Murphy Applauds Buxton Beach Clean Up Efforts

Washington, D.C. — Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. issued the following statement in response to ongoing efforts to conduct beach contamination cleanup in Buxton, NC:

"I applaud ongoing efforts to address petroleum contamination along the shorelines of Buxton, NC," said Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. "I am monitoring developments closely and working with local, state, and federal officials to ensure swift remediation. Thank you to Dare County, NC HHS: Public Health, Cape Hatteras National Seashore, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the U.S. Coast Guard for their coordination on this critical issue. I encourage surfers to please refrain from surfing in this area. I look forward to the restoration of Buxton Beach and a healthy environment along our beautiful coastline."
