Murphy Applauds Election of Speaker Mike Johnson

Washington, D.C. — Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. issued the following statement after voting in support of Vice Chair, Rep. Mike Johnson to become the 56th Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives:

"Today, I was proud to support Mike Johnson, a brilliant man of impeccable character, to become the 56th Speaker of the House of Representatives," said Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. "After much deliberation among the House Republican Conference, we unified on an exceptional leader who will aggressively carry our pro-American and economically responsible agenda forward."

"Throughout this process, I made it clear our next Speaker must take aggressive action to reduce the unsustainable growth of our national debt, secure the southern border, expose the corruption of the Biden Administration, and target the radical, Leftist agenda that is destroying our country.  Additionally, I conveyed the importance of electing an individual who understands the challenges Americans face with access to affordable, high-quality health care.
