Murphy Applauds Homeland Security Committee’s Vote to Advance Articles of Impeachment Against DHS Secretary Mayorkas
Washington, D.C. — Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. issued the following statement in support of the House Committee on Homeland Security's vote to advance two articles of impeachment against Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas:
"Today, the House Committee on Homeland Security took bold, historic action to hold Secretary Mayorkas accountable for his willful neglect to enforce our immigration laws," said Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D."Secretary Mayorkas had been given a long runway to reverse course in his dereliction of duty yet continues to unlawfully allow our country to be invaded. Our responsibility to exercise oversight of the Executive Branch has left us no choice but to remove him from his post. I applaud Chairman Green and members of the committee for their thorough work throughout the impeachment inquiry and building a case for the full House of Representatives."
America's Border Under Secretary Mayorkas
OVER 8.7 million illegal immigrants have crossed the border.
1.7+ million known gotaways have evaded the U.S. Border Patrol.
In FY23, 169 people, whose names appear on the terrorist watchlist, were stopped trying to cross the Southern Border.
This total is more than the encounters in all FY17, FY18, FY19, FY20, FY21, and FY22 combined.
During FY23, CBP seized “enough fentanyl to kill the entire U.S. population,” and fentanyl poisoning is now the leading cause of death for Americans aged 18- 45.
