Murphy Applauds Passage of Community Project and Defense Funding for NC-03
Washington, D.C. — Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., issued the following statement in response to the passage of H.R. 7148, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, which included enormous community development project and defense funding wins for North Carolina’s Third District:
"House Republicans continue to make historic progress in passing appropriations packages that put the American people first and deliver huge wins for Eastern North Carolina," said Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. "I am proud to share that I secured almost $10 million for community projects that will tremendously help improve public safety and infrastructure across the Third District. Further, it is a pleasure to also announce several important provisions in the package that will enhance the military readiness and quality of life of our troops across installations back home.

The pace at which Republicans are working to restore common sense in Washington through the government funding process is remarkable, and I will continue my tireless work to be your best advocate."
Community Project & Defense Funding Wins for NC-03:
- Transportation, Housing, and Urban Development:
- McCotter Canal Improvements: $6,000,000
- Holly Ridge Community Center Expansion: $1,200,000
- Fire Department Headquarters Construction: $1,000,000
- Firefighter Training Facility Construction: $750,000
- Water Tower and Looping Project Upgrade: $1,000,000
- Defense:
- Provides a 3.8% pay raise for all service members.
- Supports the Administration’s efforts to reduce Permanent Change of Station (PCS) moves to improve the quality and stability of life for our troops.
- Continues historic enacted Fiscal Year 2025 pay increases for junior enlisted servicemembers.
- Enhances investments in 5th and 6th-generation aircraft, including the F-35, F-47, and F/A-XX.
- Allocates approximately $13.4 billion for missile defense and space programs to augment and integrate in support of the Golden Dome effort.
- $13.3 billion for Special Operations Forces operations, equipment, and capabilities development.
