Murphy Applauds Passage of Historic Bipartisan Housing Affordability Bill

June 24, 2026

Washington, D.C. — Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D., applauds the passage of the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, legislation to address the housing crisis by limiting institutional investors from buying up homes, cutting unnecessary red tape that is slowing homebuilding, and modernizing Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs and community banking regulations.

"Housing affordability is one of the most critical issues facing the United States," said Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. "Nothing is more central to the American Dream than owning a home. However, this goal has become unattainable for so many due to skyrocketing costs and overwhelmingly insufficient supply. This package is a critical investment in America's future, particularly for young adults working tirelessly to find their place in this world and build families of their own. I am proud to have supported the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act and look forward to President Trump signing it into law."
