Murphy Applauds Passage of Military Construction & Veteran Affairs Appropriations
Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. issued the following statement in response to the passage of Fiscal Year 2025 Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies appropriations:
“North Carolina’s Third Congressional District is home to Camp Lejeune, Marine Corps Air Stations Cherry Point and New River, and more than 76,000 veterans," said Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. "Everyone knows how military-friendly Eastern North Carolina is and the pride we have in our servicemembers, their families, and our cherished veterans. I am honored to be their fighting voice in Washington, ensuring robust support for our military and that our veteran community receives the care they have earned. I'm grateful for the hard-fought success in securing critical funding for our military operations and directing the VA to better serve our veterans, especially those suffering from traumatic brain injuries."

Legislation Included in the Package:
Included in the package is language directing $52 million to the Department to continue entering into agreements with non-VA providers to ensure all veterans with severe TBIs receive long-term specialty care in their communities, to educate case managers on all tools available to provide veterans with long-term specialty care outside the VA system and to provide quarterly updates to Congress on the Department’s progress on providing access to long-term care to veterans with severe TBIs.
