Murphy Now Accepting U.S. Service Academy Nomination Applications!
Greenville, N.C. – Rep. Greg Murphy, M.D. (NC-03) is now accepting applications for congressional nomination to the United States service academies. In most cases, the U.S. Military Academy, US. Naval Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy all require a nomination from a member of Congress. The U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not require a nomination. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply to more than one service academy by the deadline: October 1, 2022.
"One of the most important responsibilities I have as a member of Congress is to nominate young men and women to be appointed to America's prestigious service academies," said Rep. Murphy. "I hope many of the capable men and women in eastern North Carolina will answer the call to serve our great nation by applying for the honor of attending these great American institutions."
Rep. Murphy may nominate up to ten candidates per vacant academy slot allotted to the Third Congressional District of North Carolina. After a candidate is nominated, it is up to each academy to offer admission. Not all candidates who are nominated will receive an appointment. Prospective applicants can learn more and apply by visiting Murphy's website here. The deadline to apply is October 1, 2022. For any questions, email: ServiceAcademyNC03@mail.house.gov.
