Murphy Reacts to American Airlines Suspending Service to Pitt-Greenville Airport
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. (NC-03) released the following statement in response to American Airlines suspending service at Pitt-Greenville Airport (PGV) in October:
"Practically every sector of the U.S. economy has been negatively affected by the COVID-19 crisis, few more so than the travel industry. Unfortunately, PGV is the latest victim of this pandemic, as American Airlines recently announced it is suspending service for a month beginning in October. The ramifications of this decision will undoubtedly hurt Greenville and all of eastern North Carolina. PGV is a vital transportation hub critical to the economy of the region. I have spoken personally with the administration of the airport authority and am working with them to pursue every potential avenue with American Airlines to continue airline service," said Murphy.
