Murphy Statement in Response to FDA Approval of Pfizer Vaccine

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Greg Murphy (NC-03) issued the following statement in response to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) approval of the COVID-19 vaccine for the prevention of COVID-19 disease in individuals 16 years of age and older:

"Today, the FDA granted full approval to Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine. This marks a tremendous achievement in the fight against COVID-19, one that I hope will lift public confidence in the vaccine.

The former Administration's Operation Warp Speed paved the way for this moment, which will go down as one of the greatest medical achievements in history. I hope this announcement will be a comfort to any North Carolinians who remain hesitant about the vaccine. While getting vaccinated against COVID-19 is a personal choice and a decision that should be made between you and your doctor, it is a decision that can save lives."
