Murphy Vote on Continuing Resolution

January 18, 2024

Washington, D.C. — Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. issued the following statement on the latest continuing resolution:

"Myopic obstructionism has delayed our appropriations process. Speaker Johnson, with a razor-thin majority, has been put in an extremely untenable position," said Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. "A government shutdown, in the midst of an increasingly dangerous time around the world, degrades the ability of our military to keep us and our interests safe and secure."

"While I am frustrated that Senate Democrats are standing in the way of protecting access to health care for seniors, we must allow time for the appropriations process to occur. I voted for the continuing resolution so that we can move forward and deliver conservative wins in this year's budget."
