Murphy Votes Against Two-Step CR

Washington, D.C. — Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. issued the following statement after voting "No" on the latest continuing resolution, H.R. 6363:

"I believe a government shutdown benefits no one and is to the detriment of our nation," said Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. "However, extending the Biden-Pelosi spending levels and policies is not the right path to go down. We must fundamentally change the way Washington works instead of governing by CR. Doing so kicks the can down the road and only exacerbates the challenges we’re facing as a nation. I am eager to do whatever it takes to show the American people that House Republicans can govern effectively, reduce the unsustainable growth of our national debt, and secure our southern border."
