NCDOT Receives $12.1 Million FEMA Grant for Costs from Hurricane Florence
Washington, D.C. – On Friday, August 7, 2020 the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced the North Carolina Department of Transportation will receive $12,177,703.24 in federal funds for debris removal operations from Hurricane Florence. The total cost of the project is $16,236,937.65.
Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. (NC-03) released the following statement in response.
"The repercussions of Hurricane Florence are still present throughout coastal North Carolina. I'm pleased to see that this funding will help with the costs of debris removal," saidMurphy. "In the wake of another hurricane, eastern North Carolina has again demonstrated its resilience and strength. The safety of our coastal communities remains a top priority for me while serving in Congress. I thank FEMA for providing this financial relief to eastern North Carolina."
