North Topsail Beach Receives $3.3 Million from FEMA for Beach Restoration

North Topsail Beach, N.C. – The Federal Emergency Management Agency announced that North Topsail Beach is receiving $3,337,269.37 to assist with beach restoration efforts related to Hurricane Florence. As a part of this project, 137,506 cubic yards of sand will be replaced and 365,508 dune anchoring plants will be replanted. After it is completed, this project will ensure that local property is protected from storms up to the 5-year level.

Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. (NC-03) issued the following statement in response:

"After more than two years of hard work, the recovery from Hurricane Florence still isn't finished," said Murphy. "Thanks to this funding, North Topsail Beach will be able to continue their efforts to secure their coastline property against tropical storms and hurricanes. I thank FEMA for their continued support of eastern North Carolina's beautiful coastline."
