Veterans

As the representative of over 76,000 veterans, it is my honor to be a strong voice in Congress for those veterans, including their families, who sacrificed so much for our nation. We made a solemn commitment to provide for our troops when they retire from service, and it is our job to make sure that commitment is honored. As a member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, especially on the Healthcare Subcommittee, I have the privilege to advocate for our veterans and address the greatest challenges they face, including accessing healthcare in a timely fashion and improving treatment options for those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries.

You are not alone.

Veterans face a much higher rate of depression and suicidal thoughts than the general population. Some may question the meaning of their service or whether it was worth their sacrifices. Some may even They feel moral distress about experiences they had during their service. It's normal to feel this way. Support groups are out there. Talk with your friends and families, reach out to battle buddies, connect with a peer-to-peer network, or sign up for mental health services. I remain firmly committed to assist those who have kept us free. Scroll down to view more resources.
