Greg Murphy, M.D. (NC-03) introduced a House Resolution expressing the sense that any Member of Congress who makes a public statement advocating for ‘defunding the police' should not be permitted to use taxpayer dollars to contract private security. The resolution condemns any calls made by a member to ‘defund the police.'
Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Greg Murphy, M.D. (NC-03) sent a letter to USMC Major General James F. Glynn urging him to drop manslaughter charges against two USMC special forces operators who were forced to defend themselves from a drunken aggressor while on deployment in December 2019.

Greg Murphy, M.D. (NC-03) hosted a Third District Service Academy Day at Craven Community College for all 7th-12th grade students interested in applying for congressional nomination to a U.S. Service Academy. The well-attended event provided an opportunity students, parents, and educators to gain the knowledge and expertise needed to submit a quality application to one of U.S. Service Academies.

The event will take place at Craven Community College, 800 College Court New Bern, N.C. 28562 from 10:00am-12:30pm. All interested parents, educators, and prospective students are invited to attend!

Washington, D.C. – Today,Rep. Greg Murphy, M.D. (NC-03) released the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives considered H.R. 2471, the Fiscal Year 2022 Appropriations Bill. Split into two votes yesterday evening, Rep. Murphy voted YES on the Security Division of the Consolidate Appropriations Act to fund our Armed Forces and national defense, and he voted in opposition to the discretionary social spending division of the package.
