Washington, D.C. Today, Rep. Greg Murphy, M.D. (NC-03) announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has approved a $24,700 grant for the Greenevers Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. in Duplin County. The funding will be used to purchase new firefighting equipment including pagers, portable radios, turnout gear, and self-contained breathing apparatus face masks.

Murphy supports the original intent of S. 1090, which permits married borrowers to urgently separate their loans, he has major concerns about this legislation becoming yet another tool for the Biden Administration to forgive mass loans in the wake of the President's unconstitutional student loan giveaway.

Greg Murphy, M.D. (NC-03), Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-02), Nanette Barragán (CA-44), and Ann Kuster (D-NH) introduced the bipartisan Biologics Competition Act to direct the Secretary of Health and Human Services to evaluate the process by which interchangeable biological products are approved to be used in pharmaceuticals. In many cases, these interchangeable products are more affordable, increase pharmaceutical drug competition, and result in lower drug prices.

If signed into law, the bipartisan bill would establish an electronic prior authorization program for Medicare Advantage (MA) plans that would allow for real-time decisions, streamline care, and improve patient access to certain items and services.
