Washington, D.C. – On December 8, 2020, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 6395, the Mac Thornberry National Defense Authorization Act Conference Report, which funds the military for FY2021. Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. (NC-03) voted in favor of the legislation.

Washington, D.C. – On Thursday, December 3, 2020, President Donald Trump signed H.R. 5037, which designates the post office at 3703 North Main Street in Farmville, North Carolina, as the “Walter B. Jones, Jr. Post Office.”

Havelock, N.C. – On Tuesday, November 24, 2020, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) awarded the town of Havelock $1,755,560.55 to repair damage on Woodhaven Drive that occurred as a direct result of Hurricane Florence.

Washington, D.C. – On Thursday, November 19, 2020, Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. (NC-03) sent a letter to Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin requesting clarification on the ability for the State of North Carolina to use funding from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act for rural broadband.

Washington, D.C. – The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is reminding eligible Private Nonprofit organizations in eastern North Carolina that December 14, 2020 is the deadline to apply for disaster loans for physical damage caused by Hurricane Isaias. Private Nonprofits (PNP) with property in Beaufort, Brunswick, Carteret, Chowan, Craven, Hyde, Jones, Onslow, Pamlico, and/or Pitt counties are eligible to apply for disaster loans worth up to $2 million.
