Washington, D.C. – On Thursday, February 4th, the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Rural Development Program announced that the Scuffleton Rural Fire Association, Inc. (SRFA) received a $234,900 Community Facility Disaster Grant. Funds from this grant will go towards the purchase of a new pumper fire truck. Part of the grant will also go toward refinancing existing debt.

Washington, D.C. – On Wednesday, February 3, 2021, Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. (NC-03) led 51 other House Republicans in sending a letter to President Joe Biden urging him not to re-enter the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), commonly known as the Iran Nuclear Deal. Originally adopted during the Obama Administration in 2015, President Trump withdrew the United States from the JCPOA in 2018. During his presidential campaign, Biden indicated he would rejoin the agreement.

Washington, D.C. – On Monday, February 1, 2021, Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. (NC-03) became an original co-sponsor of a resolution in response to Department of Defense plans to vaccinate inmates at Guantanamo Bay against COVID-19 before more at risk American residents are vaccinated. The resolution opposes vaccinating these prisoners before American citizens and asserts American citizens should be prioritized in the vaccination process.
