Greenville, N.C. – Earlier today, funds for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) officially ran out. The $349 billion small business assistance program is a part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act passed by Congress on March 27, 2020.

Greenville, N.C. – Yesterday, on Monday, April 6, Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. (NC-03) joined a bipartisan and bicameral group of federal lawmakers in sending a letter urging Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy to include funding for broadband internet in any further legislative response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Greenville N.C. – Beginning today, small businesses and sole proprietorships can apply for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) through the Small Business Administration (SBA). The PPP provides funding for up to eight weeks of payroll costs including benefits, mortgages, rent and utilities.

Washington, D.C. – Today, H.R. 748, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act passed the United States House of Representatives by a voice vote. The measure passed the United States Senate on Wednesday, March 25, and President Trump has indicated that he will sign the bill into law.

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Greg Murphy, M.D. (NC-03) provided the following statement after Gunnery Sgt. Diego Pongo and Capt. Moises Navas were killed in Iraq on Sunday, March 8, 2020. Both Marines were assigned to the 2nd Marine Raider Battalion, Marine Forces Special Operations Command, which is located at Camp Lejeune.
